Thank you for posting this …… For obvious reasons I cannot give it “a like”, but I can personally confirm that he was a very decent Politician.

Disappointing that none of the Welsh options, including Aberthaw made it.to the shortlist. Hopefully the site will be out to good use after the coal station has cleared.

MI5 has issued a rare warning that an alleged Chinese agent has infiltrated Parliament to interfere in UK politics.
An alert from the security service said Christine Ching Kui Lee "established links" for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) with current and aspiring MPs.
She then gave donations to politicians, with funding coming from foreign nationals in China and Hong Kong. It comes after a "significant, long-running" investigation by MI5, Whitehall sources told the BBC.

One of the MPs funded by Ms Lee was Labour's Barry Gardiner, who received over £420,000 from her in five years - but he said he had always made the security services aware of the donations.

Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey also received a £5,000 donation when he was energy secretary - but he said the money was accepted by his local association and it was "the first time he has been given cause to be concerned".

How long does the sound bite slogan global Britain survive in a post boris political world and with it those who hitched their colours to it?

It’s been known for years that the Conservative Party has taken donations and hospitality from Russia via Putin’s oligarchs. Unfortunately it’s taken the full scale invasion of Ukraine for the UK press to talk about it.

Whatever your thoughts about Carol Cadwalladr, she is prepared to go to court to defend her journalism. The following thread should be of concern to us all:

Carole Cadwalladr or Carole Codswallop has become a complete conspiracy theorist cat lady. He appearance in court was laughable under cross examination she admitted that what she had earlier said was made up and she had no evidence.

She gets a lot of hate but if you go through and read her reporting she was actually right on the important stuff.

I’ve never been cross examined in court. I’ve also never faced the prospect of bankruptcy in order to defend (instead of settle out of court) something I have written. I can’t imagine it’s an experience anyone would go through unless they were sure of their position. In any case, it’ll be interesting to see what the verdict will be in a few months’ time.

Cat lady or not, there does seem to be a corrupting Russian influence in the Conservative party and therefore the government.

Maybe also a report into how the policies she’s pushed with her “green” energy agenda has financed putins war and will continue to do so in Ukraine wouldn’t go amiss while there at it.

P&O ferries have halted all services and told to remain in ports. All passengers and cargo have been offloaded. P&O to announce 'major announcement' soon.

Unconfirmed reports say that P&O ferries are to sack ALL their ferry officers and crew and replace them with cheaper agency staff.
