Defence Secretary
Fallon resigned.
BBC reporting Fallon resigned. Apparently due to the whole knee touching incident. I say he took the chance to leg it before the upcoming cuts.

Defence Secretary
Fallon has fallen on his sword. Who will replace him and will they be any better for our military?
Re: Defence Secretary
Hopefully we get someone with actual military experience like the US got with Mattis.RAF>FAN wrote:Fallon has fallen on his sword. Who will replace him and will they be any better for our military?
Re: Defence Secretary

Re: Defence Secretary
There must be more than the JHB incident....time will tell. The question is, how does this affect the mini-review and the defence budget in the budget later this month? Reports indicating his replacement to be announced tomorrow. It won't be Boris as that would be a demotion. I doubt TM would bring in someone from outside of the cabinet for such a high profile role, which would rule out Mercer (unfortunately)....so Elwood? Baldwin?

Gee, massive cuts that cripple the forces rumoured to be on the horizon and he uses a quick chance to jump ship, so he doesn't have to 'break promises'.
Good riddance either way. Absolute incompetant in the role.

Not suggesting suitable candidates, was suggesting possible likely candidates. TM seems to somehow make a mess of pretty much every decision/opportunity/event that you should list the candidates by suitability and the person at the bottom of the list is then the favourite...ArmChairCivvy wrote:Joking??dmereifield wrote: Baldwin?

Williamson was then appointed PPS to the Prime Minister, David Cameron, in October 2013. It seems I gave TM too much credit, he wasn't even on the list!dmereifield wrote:Not suggesting suitable candidates, was suggesting possible likely candidates. Re: Defence Secretary
daily telegraph speculating fallon was tip of iceberg and could be enough to bring May down. Wonder it Corbyns appeal of being the outsider will sweep him to power with promises to clean up politics
Re: Defence Secretary
Seeing as Labour have a more major sex assault scandal going on atm... then I can't see Corbyn being able to run on being any better than the Tories...
