Fury as Fifa BANS England and Scotland from WEARING POPPIES during match on Armistice Day
Image
(Daily Express)
ENGLAND and Scotland players have been banned by Fifa from wearing poppies on their shirts to remember fallen heroes during their World Cup qualifier on Armistice Day.

Furious war veterans blasted the heartless decision by the sport’s governing body, FIFA, which claims the symbol of commemorating those who have died in battle is too political.

But FA chiefs have also been lambasted for reportedly failing to challenge the Fifa ruling for next Friday’s crucial game.

The Poppy
I am not a badge of honour,
I am not a racist smear,
I am not a fashion statement,
To be worn but once a year,
I am not glorification
Of conflict or of war.
I am not a paper ornament
A token,
I am more.
I am a loving memory,
Of a father or a son,
A permanent reminder
Of each and every one.
I'm paper or enamel
I’m old or shining new,
I’m a way of saying thank you,
To every one of you.
I am a simple poppy
A Reminder to you all,
That courage faith and honour,
Will stand where heroes fall.
The Poppy

(Forces News) 28th October 2022
The Royal British Legion has launched its national poppy appeal in London with a huge red wall that tells the stories of the charities beneficiaries.

As each poppy is purchased their removal will reveal the stories of a handful of Royal British Legion beneficiaries.

The Poppy Appeal runs until Remembrance Sunday, on 13 November, and the RBL is hoping to raise £50millon.
