Too well armed, and competively priced to be either used by the Royal Navy or bought by MOD.

They would be perfect if the Royal Navy never went to war and could build to commercial standards.

given the Irish are deploying P51's & P61's on the Libya refugee mission they are as much at risk.....and both those classes are much easier on the eye than anything River related

The new Batch of Rivers look good enough too Mark......The P60s are "improved" P50s optimised for patroling the north Atlantic in winter. They are all as "fighty" as was thought appropriate and the INS seems happy enough to send them to the Med. They are not designed to defeat China in an actual war. They are expected to police Irish soverignty within our EEZ quite effectively perhaps in the next (post Brexit) cod war. That should be fun for all concerned as the EU Fisheries Policy is dismantled. Hopefully Ireland will benefit from the fallout , but I expect Spain and France to be seriously pissed.
Pic of both P50s attached.

Some good news for a change. Photographed this week, this is the first section of the keel of the as-yet unnamed P64, which will be the fourth BECKETT CLASS ship to join the NS fleet.

Here Is Babcock’s Frigate Proposal For The Hellenic Navy
British shipbuilder Babcock is proposing its Arrowhead 140 design for the Hellenic Navy frigate requirement. The vessels, based on the future Type 31 frigate of the Royal Navy, are part of a wider package offer by the shipbuilder which partnered with Thales UK, and is supported by the British government.

I'm not sure how recently this happened, but Rosyth's Goliath crane has had it's former "Aircraft Carrier Alliance" logo replaced by a Babcock one.

I think this happened a while ago Babcock bought the goliath crane from the ACA as it was up for sale after the QEC build.

Abt 2 yrs back I picked up this one on the "local media" but the more global types (read that one as a 'singular') poured ridicule on me
... but here we go. And the film can be rolled back. So further discussion shut down?

If the RoK carrier programme goes ahead, Babcock seem to have made themselves integral to either of the competing concept teams.
