UKSF V-22 Osprey

I've seen a handful of stories flying about in the mainstream media and elsewhere that are suggesting that the UK will "acquire" a handful of Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey tilt rotor aircraft for UKSF counter terrorism operations in and around the UK, owing to the aircraft's vastly superior speed when compared with traditional helicopters.
I don't suppose anybody here could speak to the veracity of these articles? It'd certainly be a surprise to me if it turns out the UK has actually bought a few V-22s, rather than leasing them from the US. It all seems a bit wooly at the moment to be honest. If true it'd be interesting to see if this marks the beginning of serious UK interest in V-22, especially with the need for a new rotary wing utility aircraft in the middle distance.
