Italy to host 2026 Winter Olympics

The XXV Winter Olympics of 2026 has been awarded to the Italian cities of Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo.

This will be the fourth Olympic Games hosted in Italy and the first Olympic Games hosted by Milan. It will mark the 20th anniversary of the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin and the 70th anniversary of the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina d'Ampezzo. This is the first Olympic Games with two host cities in its name.

The next scheduled Olympic Games are

Summer Games: Tokyo (2020), Paris (2024), Los Angeles (2028).
Winter Games: Beijing (2022), Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo (2026).
