So, I managed to predict the result.

If we discount the first French goal on a judge, third on Croatian defence and fourth on goalkeeper, it's 2-1 for Croatia.
Fortune favors brave sir, said Carrot cheerfully.
What's her position about heavily armed, well prepared and overmanned armies?
Oh, noone's ever heard of Fortune favoring them, sir.
According to General Tacticus, it's because they favor themselves…

Congrats, Frenchie. Must say that here the positivity all along has been such an exception to the dark mood that prevails here in the general discourse, about other areas... just to mention Brexit and defence as some examples.
- by now it has emerged that the former is an even bigger fudge than the latter (so we relegate the latter to the status of window dressing, to make it clear which topic snatches "the gold")
Ever-lasting truths: Multi-year budgets/ planning by necessity have to address the painful questions; more often than not the Either-Or prevails over Both-And.
If everyone is thinking the same, then someone is not thinking (attributed to Patton)

(Geoff Marshall) 17th July 2018
To tie in with the FIFA World Cup 2018, London's Southgate Underground station was 'renamed' for two days (on the 16th/17th July) to 'Gareth Southgate' instead, a move very popular with people wanting to come along and take a photo to celebrate the football

The club would like to thank Jose for his work during his time at Manchester United and to wish him success in the future.

I would just like to thank Jose for his brief spell at United, never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined someone taking such a big club and making them look so... Inept, useless and down right pathetic in such a small space in time.

I only wish that his stay could have been longer.

Yours Sincerely,
A Liverpool fan

For all his many faults... jose finally gave us the Europa Cup... rounding off the collection. What has Klopp brought to Liverpool in terms of titles?

Club Statement:
Manchester United announced today that former striker Ole Gunnar Solskjær has been appointed as caretaker manager until the end of the 2018/19 season.
Solskjær scored 126 goals in 366 appearances for United between 1996 and 2007. In 2008 he became the club’s reserve-team manager, before taking the managerial role at FC Molde in Norway.
Solskjær will take charge of the first team with immediate effect and will remain in place while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new full-time manager. He will be joined by Mike Phelan as first-team coach, working alongside Michael Carrick and Kieran McKenna.
“Manchester United is in my heart and it’s brilliant to be coming back in this role. I’m really looking forward to working with the very talented squad we have, the staff and everyone at the club,” said Solskjær.

Ed Woodward, Executive Vice Chairman, comments: “Ole is a club legend with huge experience, both on the pitch and in coaching roles. His history at Manchester United means he lives and breathes the culture here and everyone at the club is delighted to have him and Mike Phelan back. We are confident they will unite the players and the fans as we head into the second half of the season.”
