Like the photos, bet he wished the POW was deployed to the med at this time of year.

He has been asked to stay on for another year as he is now one of the experienced crew...he missed the run ashore at Gib last year due to a Phalanx course at Collingwood, desperate to go to the US I think!

Spoke to nipper last night and he mentioned this, he now has his certificate for first entry in to the Artic Circle, though no blue nose ceremony as it was a tad chilly on deck!

Interesting that the areas of thermal protection on PoW's flight deck don't seem to be leaking much heat up from below. Or perhaps scraping it off would damage the layer?

Shame that she is not currently operating Lightning2’s ! That would soon cause meltdown / ease removal.

Nipper posted this to us, trying his best to look warm! He reckons Pompey Revs will be on very soon, sometime this week if all goes to plan.

I had warning from nipper that it might be an unsociable hour...but come on! He reckons they all want to get home early after being thinned out lunchtime tomorrow.

Nipper is on GPMG duty, but the one right at the bow next to the ramp this time. Typical, as I'm not able to make it due to missus being unwell...

FYI - There's an article on the USMC Deployment on CSG21 in May 2022's edition of AirForces Monthly. Not going to reproduce here. But it is available online if you look. Nothing incredible included in it apart from the Ski Jump not being an issue (as expected) and USMC F-35B getting clearance for AAR from unfamiliar platforms (suspect RAF Voyager) for 6.5hr long missions over Syria and Iraq.
