Indeed, nipper was expecting to be back up in Rosyth not long after returning to Pompey once the starboard shaft was fixed.
According to the admiral both are being repaired by the spring when PWLS will return to Portsmouth for further planned upkeep before being ready to sail in Autumn

Hmm, ok. Perhaps plans have changed since I last spoke to him. Hope so.

Well meteorologically speaking spring isn't over until 31st May and autumn doesn't end until 30th November :(

NO wonder then that breakages happened. Some engineering personnel need to be kicked over this.

Sorry behind a paywall, was it the build or design causing the problems?

Both shafts were misaligned during construction.

No issue with the design as QE unaffected.

Usually its the first of class that has all the issues

POW has not had the best of luck since launch, like I've said before we just need to get her out there and build a little bit of confidence around her.

If this is what happened it’s surprising it got as far as being considered operational without anyone noticing before it broke.

Should we assume the t31s will be also fucked up by the same workers?

Giving these propellor shafts such pronouns as "starboard" and "port" is surely to offend someone in Sturgeon's Scotland...

Well it depends what the error is. The aft blocks were built at Govan by BAE and floated round to Rosyth. The assembly was more of a joint operation than purely Babcock. There were large numbers of BAE staff assigned to Rosyth during the QEC build.
