Lets hope they haven't cut too many corners to get her ready for this deployment at such short notice and they don't comeback to bite them..losing one carrier to maintenance issues is unfortunate, two would look like.........

QE 7Sep2022 15.56.jpg
15:56 - QE is south of St Catherine's Point, IoW. Her speed has not yet exceeded 12.2 knots.
16:15 - I think she just switched AIS off. Perhaps she's reading?!

No tugs, they've all arrived back in Portsmouth. QE will be escorted by HMS Richmond (F239) and RFA Tideforce (A139) though. And perhaps an Astute too?
I think QE will be fine, afterall she's done Westlant before and has been to Japan and back.

Oh and PoW was moved to PRJ.

I guess there is a very remote possibility of where the harbour channel is dreged out for her, there may be a shelf that could be struck? Possibly when turning the ship around to face south?

Talk of rudder damage, and a coupling failure suggests the outer prop shaft detached from the inner shaft allowing the prop to move backwards until it came into contact with the starboard rudder.
I'm just reading between the lines, but it was clear that she left Portsmouth on one shaft, having mis diagnosed the fault, when they restarted the Starboard shaft, the coupling failed, causing the outer shaft to slide back, damaging it and the rudder. I doubt she struck anything underwater.

He also told me they have removed the starboard prop blades and will go up to Rosyth under Port engine power only, closely followed by a tug should it be required. They will also add a special ingredient to the fuel to produce a shite load of smoke to compete with the Russian Aircraft Carriers when they leave port. :lolno:

Confirmed, PoW has vanished from the list of QHM movements for today. Btw, QHM (Queen's Harbour Master) is now called KHM (King's Harbour Master).
