Exhibit One for your perusal - National Shipbuilding Strategy, Chapter 5, Para 94
Embedded within the Type 26 contract are performance incentives to encourage the shipyard to become globally competitive, and for BAE Systems to get themselves into a position to bid for future programmes.
I suspect that, if they did, they didn't do a good job of it. The Government seems to have a fairly realistic view of the shipbuilding arm of BAE.

American intelligence agencies are scrutinizing efforts by Saudi Arabia to build up its ability to produce nuclear fuel that could put the kingdom on a path to developing nuclear weapons.

Spy agencies in recent weeks circulated a classified analysis about the efforts underway inside Saudi Arabia, working with China, to build industrial capacity to produce nuclear fuel. The analysis has raised alarms that there might be secret Saudi-Chinese efforts to process raw uranium into a form that could later be enriched into weapons fuel, according to American officials.

As part of the study, they have identified a newly completed structure near a solar-panel production area near Riyadh, the Saudi capital, that some government analysts and outside experts suspect could be one of a number of undeclared nuclear sites.

The Saudis did state, some years ago that, if Iran was allowed to develop atomic/ nuclear weapons, then they would do so as well, so I wouldn't be at all surprised.

Having funded Pakistan n-prgrm for decades, they have simply brought it closer to home
- if the matter wasn't this serious, would make me laugh how China is playing both sides (KSA and Iran)

Let's not forget that China built a UAV factory for the Kingdom, too
- has anyone tracked the origins of the numerous UAE drones operating in Libya?

There has been speculation on the normalisation of ties between Israel and Saudi Arabia considering the U.A.E did this and became a potential f35 customer could this also happen for Saudi Arabia, certainly Iran would find this of interest

A potentially hugely significant moment

https://apnews.com/article/israel-saudi ... _medium=AP

JERUSALEM (AP) — Israeli media reported Monday that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu flew to Saudi Arabia for a clandestine meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, which would mark the first known encounter between senior Israeli and Saudi officials.

The reported meeting was the latest move by the Trump Administration to promote normalized ties between Israel and the broader Arab world and reflected the shared concern of all three nations about Iran.

The Israeli news site Walla, followed quickly by other Hebrew-language media, cited an unnamed Israeli official as saying that Netanyahu and Yossi Cohen, head of Israel’s Mossad spy agency, flew to the Saudi city of Neom on Sunday, where they met with the crown prince. The prince was there for talks with visiting U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Now that is an interesting concept:

ASW from a small fast patrol boat (for shallow waters like Gulf, Baltic etc...)

Something the Soviets/Russians have been doing for a while with their Corvettes, using Helicopter type Sonars for ASW on small ships. Does bring the idea up to date and would be an idea role for unmanned naval craft.
