Six weeks ago, there was snow on the ground.
Today, you could fry an egg on it. :wtf:

If you ask me, this whole wind/solar generated power is just one big scam to take public money out of their pockets...
Fortune favors brave sir, said Carrot cheerfully.
What's her position about heavily armed, well prepared and overmanned armies?
Oh, noone's ever heard of Fortune favoring them, sir.
According to General Tacticus, it's because they favor themselves…

Surprised theres no hosepipe bans in southern England yet, it hasn't rained since early May down here I think, I honestly can't remember the last time it rained!
There are currently bans in the whole of Northern Ireland and northwest England in the counties of Cumbria, Lancashire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester and Cheshire. Which is surprising itself, as the north and west traditionally has much more annual rainfall than the south and east does.

August has predictions of temperatures reaching as high as 39 Celcius (102 Farenheit) in parts of southern England, which would be a new record.

EDIT (16:00): Writing this earlier has just caused a thunderstorm and RAIN to fall!

White Christmas?
2018 is unlikely to be an official White Christmas in the UK, as no snow is forecast. The official requirement for a "White Christmas" is for a single snowflake to fall onto the ground on Christmas Day in London.

However, London is full of "snowflakes" and slippery wet leaves....

Yet another storm, is there no end? The football fixture cancellations have already begun with Tranmere's home match which is worrying given its proximity to Liverpool.

It’s alright the world champions are in Watford this weekend so there isn’t anything worth going to Liverpool to see :o

TBH that's a bit of a meaningless statement though, given that only around 1600 of the charging locations boast rapid chargers. And if you were on a journey somewhere then you wouldn't want to use anything other than a rapid charger, unless eg it was an overnight stay or a minimal emergency charge for an hour or two just to get you to the next 'real' charger.

So, for real chargers, the figure is around 20% of the number of petrol stations. Making progress, but not nearly there yet.

Predictions that the second half of hurricane season will be far more active than the first half. Early predictions were for 140% of an average season's storms (last year was 120%), which looks like being quite accurate.

Greta Thunberg is now a three-start environmental general; having first upset both Trump and Putin, and now
" in reaction to Thunberg tweeting an article saying China's annual emissions exceeded those of all developed nations combined in 2019 for the first time." ... the reaction was neither mild nor polite
