Corbyn really is on his quest to be a short term leader with all the enemies he is making in the Labour Party.

Kevan Jones will certainly be a big miss for their defence team. Depending on who they replace him with Labour could be end up with an almost completely inexperienced Commons defence team.

Corbyn is determined to wreck not only Labours Defence team but anyone who opposes his Super Left policies.

Disagree with Great Leader? Get fired!

So much for the "New Politics."

I never, ever, thought in my life that I would look at the Conservatives as the better option.

It shocks me that I even typed that.

Emily Thornberry has some interesting links.

She's the sister-in-law of Major General Richard Nugee, the Defence Services Secretary and she receives donations from the law firm that's currently witch-hunting Iraq veterans.

Emily Thornbury was forced to resign in 2014 after posting a picture of a white van in Rochester during the by election campaign.

Did you mean "White Flag"? If you did, it would seem very appropriate!

Seems to me that with Ken Livingstone on the defence team we can kiss goodbye to our defence if Labour get into power. So yes a white flag would be appropriate.

I doubt it this time, the Tories must be laughing at the prospect of 2020 if Corbyn stays as leader until then.

so the nuclear deterrent could g to sea without warheads if corbyn gets into power along with us reaching an accommodation with Argentina over the falklands. I wonder if he'll consult ordinary decent labour supporters over the Falklands or the EU referendum.

I really don't see why even the far-left would want to alter our stance on the Falklands. Even from a Marxist perspective both Argentina's and the UK's claims are imperialist in nature, which means that the anti-imperialist position is to support the right town self-determination of the Falkland Islanders.

yes but its a British colony and we should have divested ourselves of them. Its also a Thatcher Icon, In their minds "The Falklands factor" blinded the electorate from voting for the true government of the United Kingdom in Michael Foot.

The democratic decision is to support the right of self determination.
Indeed it is. It's one of those few times that by the Marxist stance and the democratic stance would coincide. Obviously, it all falls apart as soon as the Marxists demand communal ownership of sheep, but that's not the point. :)

Nah, the electorate didn't vote for Michael Foot because as a nation we value fiscal responsibility over economic radicalism. Basically, as a nation we tend to be generally happy to help the poor and vulnerable as long as it doesn't come at our own expense.

I once had an argument with a Marxist whose claimed that it was Michael Foot's general support for the government over the Falklands that lost him the election because the electorate saw it as a betrayal of his anti-imperialist stance. And that wasn't even the most uncomfortable date I've been on. :D

Without Trident he'd probably be better off using them as mobile power stations.
