I think India would be daft to for many reasons, including IAC 1 sea trials to start in 2020 which is 2 carriers, how long would it take to build IAC 2 ? maybe 2030 ? ( if they did go for a CATOBAR QE carrier, fingers crossed ) which would make 3, im sure they would keep the refurbed kiev carrier going till then, look how long Hermes went on for !

If they wanted a 3rd carrier to replace the Refurbed kiev class it would make more sense to go with the IAC 2 design again, maybe by 2035 they could have 2 x CATOBAR and a STOBAR in rotation which would be a formidable force.

I expect that model's the largest aircraft carrier that Russia will field for the foreseeable future.

That model is as near to a real ship as they will get. The chances are the same as Japan building a real Space Battleship Yamato.

I always find the design of warships built in India interesting due to their amalgamations of technologies from all over. Saying that both Barak 8 and BrahMos do appear to be very effective weapon systems, the latter being equal to anything developed in Europe of the USA.

Can't imagine that the Indians will be in a rush to get another Ruskie carrier, not after the endless pile of trouble the current one is.

Reports on 2nd Scorpene Submarine for Indian Navy Do Not Reflect Facts – Naval Group

A report published by Indian daily newspaper Business Insider indicates that the Indian Navy refused to commission INS Khanderi, the second of the Scorpene-class submarine, because of its noise level. According to Naval Group, such reporting does not reflect facts.

There has been some delays in completing trials of the second submarine due to setting to work related issues and minor dent to the propeller which occurred during trials. The propeller was replaced and all noise trials have been completed successfully with results well above past specified performances.

Initially, the 5th and 6th submarine should have received an AIP plug. But due to delays in the propulsion module design at DRDO, it was later decided that the AIP plug will be retrofitted to each Kalvari-class submarine during their first normal refit that occurs every 7 years.

The plane looks like a trainer and before Mig-29K came around the naval fighters on the Russian STOBAR carrier were in practice limited to taking off with A2A loadouts (lighter).

This article sheds light to the LCA rescue prgrm (HAL of course being 'the state' though it is made to look like private funds are carrying half of the burden... for which there hasn't been a justification for a decade (the prgrm itself much older)

India needs to secure its second strike capability

whereas Russia is putting similar missiles (Brahmos was also a co-development) onto similar a/c for 'fat' ship targets... like carriers.
