It really Isn’t. UKDJ contorts virtually every parliamentary written answer into a major story, ladeling on additional information taken from wherever.
Main problem is Parliamentary written answers are often bullshit and promise things that never, ever come to pass.
Until UKDJ learns this and develops a degree of real-world cynicism it’s producing clickbait rather than journalism.
I don't claim that this is a major story at all, the article clearly states that funding has been allocated by the Ministry of Defence to build and support the next five Type 26 Frigates and quotes Baroness Goldie saying that funding has been allocated to build and support the next five Type 26 Frigates. It's not up to me to decide whether or not this is "bullshit". Opinion doesn't mix well with news, I simply publishing an article saying X has said Y.
We're a small group of people doing this in our free time as a hobby, we're not a news company or business and we don't get paid. We're not professional journalists, I mean my day job is in a hospital. We write about things we think people want to know about and we try to provide a bit of background information along with it. We have no need to produce clickbait, we don't make any money with the website so whether 1 or 100 people read a story makes no difference, I still have to pay most of the server costs myself.
I thought it was newsworthy that resources have been allocated for the second batch so I published an article saying that resourced have been allocated for a second batch.
