Be interesting to find out how many paint schemes some of these Hawks have had through their years of service in numerous roles.

I met the Arrows in my youth at Biggin Hill where they were based for the Queen's Silver Jubilee, where all their Gnats were lined up together with their Hercules Support Plane. The pilots in red and support crew in blue were chatting to service families the evening before the flypast. I loved the Gnats even though they scared the life out of one two year old Jim at RAF Cranwell when they came from behind the audience one display. It certainly was a very compact plane.

I also remember the Red Arrows Ice lollies we had that summer, where each came with a plastic Red Arrow launched via a rubber band and the Ice Lolly's stick.

Can't keep up with these Jubilees... so which year would that have been? Think I saw Red Arrows in their Gnats in 1968, so a good 10yrs before the switch to Hawks

Soon after the Silver Jubilee the Arrows took almost a year off to transfer and train up on the Hawk.

BAE bought aeralis as "Next Gen Hawk", and are 'in discussions' with HMG to purchase said aircraft to replace the existing Hawk trainer fleet...?

Jokes aside, there's three fairly promising aviation start-ups in the UK at the moment: Aeralis, Swift Aircraft and Hill Helicopters

Past experience suggests that, without getting substantial backing or being acquired by a prime, none are likely to make it.

With a more cohesive aerospace strategy you could almost see the potential for collaboration on infrastructure, staff training and systems.

Swift is supported by the RAF - I think?
Hill has commercial backing- 650 orders.
VA has apparently 1,000 orders if that means anything. ( I don't personally think they will succeed).
Britten-norman just moved manufacturing to the UK.

Due to NetZero ambitions and many other factors. there are plenty of start-ups or smaller aerospace companies.

The seeds are there. The Hand of God (Government, large corporations) Can support these seeds and allow them to grow.
