I don't believe I would be extreme to suggest that a person turning retirement age be assessed medically for an aged pension or be given unemployment benefits instead, which would put the unemployment rate up, which is why it would be unpopular with governments who would have to introduce strong incentives for employers to keep on older employees with experience and skills that take years to aquire
