Had a look at Island Offshore's website. Can't see any sister ship to Island Crown owned by them. So it might be that we end up with a total mish mash of disparate ships. Hopefully if the concept is proved we just go and buy some off the shelf brand new and get some commonality (and potentially better aviation provision).

I agree with the post above this is a great start and gets us out of the blocks on this but we really need to take a off the shelf design and and make it what we want if they are 100 meters they could be built at Appledore or at CL sign a contract for 3 with options for 3 more

Possible solution for us? TRIFIC? If we procure with the netherlands as we might with MRSS, We could order for very cheap (XVPB was significantly less than £10m, so at most this could cost £20-25m ?) 4 or more LSV, with the very minimal development costs being shared with the Netherlands. commonality with XVPB.

speedy aswell, no-slow MCMV.

Shout-out to damen for this awesome 3d public model. All shipbuilders could do this considering that they have these 3d exterior models anyway.

Heck, you could even add a heli-deck over the workdeck, with a telscopic hanger. Leave an amidship area open for stuff like tall things and POD-missiles.

Update: Went onto a pdf from palfinger about their stern handling system, it has a specific design just for the babcock boat.
Its name is Cybele 90m MCMV vessel design

Practicality of recommissioning the echo class as LSV? No purchase price.
