Harry for God's sake please shut up

Post by R686 »

For someone whom left the “firm” because of the media and wanted a quieter life, he seems to like the attention too much

Just wish he would go away it’s getting very boring

Harry left because of ill-intentioned press intrusions into his private and family life. It was never his intention to withdraw from the media entirely, because that has always been the means that he can advance the causes he cares for, which is really the only purpose he has for his high public profile.

Not sure the ongoing revelations are helping any of the causes he cares for but they do appear to be funding his and the wife's luxurious Californian mansion.

It maintains his public profile which in turn maintains his ability to fund and publicise his causes.

Due to the nature of the leaked book, you're only seeing what certain elements of the press want you to read.

There are plenty of high profile celebrities that keep their gobs shut. He is rapidly turning into Paul Burrell.

The online version of the Daily Express seem obsessed with printing as many articles about Harry and Meghan as they can. One only has to read the comments to these stories to see the audience they are catering for. There also appears to be a lot of royal experts, commentators, sources etc feeding these stories. Not impressed by the negativity of the way they report and twist things to suit their agenda. That said its about time Harry shut up himself if he ever wants reconciliation with his UK family.

Ah yes, his grubby "what the butler saw" book.

Harry is basically a typical naturalised Californian, puffed up with his own theatrical self importance and narcissistic personality....

Really all rather embarrassing for him.

Time for the King to strip Harry (and his decendants) of all titles, honours and privileges, then to correctly change Harry's surname to Hewitt.

Well that's pretty ironic given that is the topic of one of the extracts from the book.

In a democracy people have or usually the right to speech unfortunately there are some powerful institutions that can suppress this or control the narrative of the information provided to the public, in other words you don't know what you don't know and hearing from a source whose first-hand experience is different to the controlled narrative that we base our assumptions on is confronting .

And how is any of that relevant to Harry's best seller.

It's his story and he has a right to provide this which he can provide rebuttal to media sources and the industry that feeds off the monarchy with its gossip

If it only affected himself don’t think anyone would give a toss, but unfortunately it’s not just about himself. He is feathering his own nest at others expense

Much of the media that have been commenting have been feathering their "nests " for many years without accountability , people forget the News of the World scandal or that many of the same people from that paper are still working in similar media.
Prince Harry is entitled to recompense for his version of events that it does not reflect well on others there is no dispute if he has good reason to believe others made his situation living in the U.K untenable for himself and family would be deplorable if true that he is being attacked for providing these accusations and not for the substance of the accusations is a sad reflection on a media which holds others to account but not itself

The book comes across as somewhat inappropriate because it wasn't primarily targeting the UK audience.

This is about Harry's new live in America and building/enhancing his brand there.
At this point they apparently didn't care too much how it would land at home. Not many people inside the UK seem to have clocked that.

Of course people in the UK DID clock that. The point is, that as a UK subject, HE should have considered that to be the first and foremost consideration. By not doing so, he has insulted all of his “countrymen”. If he demonstrably cannot be bothered about them, then he really should not expect to get anything positive in return. It pains me greatly to feel this way, but I will never be able to see it differently.
