That is interesting. I believe the M2s in use with the British Army were produced in the UK under licence and include improvement over the original weapon. I think an improved QCB was one of them.

Well Turkey will doo be self sufficient in air defence systems thanks to their investment. Other nations need to take note and improve their capabilities, most probably off the Shelf with US and European systems.

The Turks are on a mission to overhaul their defence infrastructure and remove as much of the American "veto" over their defence and foreign policy as possible. If you consider they are a country of avbout 85 million, with an econonmy of that by "PPP" is similar to the UK - then their investment programmes are very impressive, as is their technical achievements.

Greece will find it hard to keep pace with Turkiye once Turkiye defence infrastucture becomes self sustaining with oversea sales made on the basis of a sanctions free relationship for supplies and maintenance, unlike the USA, UK, France, Germany who live to use weapon supplies and support for leverage purposes.

IF Greece were threatened by Turkey it would not find it difficult to find allies who want to preclude any actual conflict. I believe Turkey has turned its attention to become a major player in the Middle east, though access to natural gas deposits could mess things up.

Turkey is in a very difficult geography, not like UK or any other EU country. We have borders with Syria, Iraq, Iran, Armenia and at north a sea border with Ukraine. Until a few months ago Greece was not at top 5 of the priority list of Turkey. And Turkey will never start a war against Greece or will be a part of aggression. It is even out of debate for people and government but it is not not the same for Greece government.

Gas reserves at East Mediterrain is an important subject but Greece try to impose some crazy maps totally out of logic and international rules. For example, as yo know you have some islands close to the France, and according to their teories %90 percent of English channel belongs to them, or they say their islands air space is 10 miles while at sea it is six miles... Because of that Turkey has so many fronts, they try to use it and try to maximise their benefits. Maybe you know, this week they made radar lock on Turkish F-16s even during Nato missions.

And generally Turkey's position is not at Middle East generally. Turkey is like UK against Europe. It is a part of it but at the same time it is out of it. Because of that UK-Turkey political relations are at best time ever. At Ottoman period at 16th-17th century it was France, the best partner of Turks at Europe against Roman-Germens. Now France became a part of them but UK is out of it and became the best partner of Turkey at Europe. And it is also very usuful for UK. For example, MAybe you know there is an FNSS company in Turkey, half of it belongs to BEA Company and it sells a lot of things to Muslim countries over Turkey.

Looks a bit like a Turkish Foxhound. I wonder what it costs compared to JLTV as well as what, if any UK workshare there could be?

Open sources say it is about 500k Euros. It is a very optimum vehicle in demand and exported more than 1000 products. Last country purchased it was Hungary.
