More important HMS Indomitable did have them 22 Sea Hurricanes , 12 Martlet's and 16 Albacore when she ran aground on rote to meet up with POW and Repulse and kept this airwing until she got Seafire's in 43

As for Hermes she was another soft loss in April 42 she had Swordfish for attack but believe it or not when sunk she was at sea with no aircraft let alone fighters on board
