Understood the retreating blade stall phenomenon of the rotor blades limits the forward speed of conventional helicopters and kicks in around 175 knots or less, after that it gets very expensive, more power required, wings to share the lift, further complicated/heavy transmission, retractable landing gears etc.
Question is what the is the payback for this no doubt very expensive option.
