A taste of things to come, I assume they will steadily increase the bring back payload and the SRVL speed.

(Navy Lookout/Swedish Armed Forces) 19th October 2023
Swedish version:HMS Queen Elizabeth made her first visit to new NATO partner, Sweden, arriving in Gothenburg on 13 October for a week of defence diplomacy as part of the UK Carrier Strike Group deployment.
Welcomed by flypast of JAS 39 Grippens jets.
(Försvarsmakten) 18th October 2023
In times of security threats, crises, or war, Sweden does not stand alone. This becomes especially clear when the British aircraft Carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth docked in the port of Gothenburg during the week. The goal is to, together within the defense cooperation JEF (Joint Expeditionary Force), continue to secure the Baltic Sea, the Baltic Sea inlet, and the West Coast with its important ports. Side by side, we become stronger, enhance our defense capabilities, and protect our freedom and the right to live as we choose.

A US F-35 Lightning II jet has completed the first shipborne rolling vertical landing (SRVL) on HMS Prince of Wales.
The SRVL sees an aircraft land on the carrier after approaching the ship from behind at speed, before using thrust from the aircraft's nozzle and lift created by air over the wings to touch down and gently come to a stop.

First F-35B Shipborne Rolling Vertical Landing on HMS Prince of Wales
(Royal Navy/NavyLookout) 21st October2023
(Royal Navy/NavyLookout) 21st October2023
The first SRVL was conducted in benign conditions off the east coast of the US during the Westlant 23 deployment. Also flying operations in high winds and USMC V-22 Ospreys deliver VIPs to the ship

Wasn't the Dauphin II one of them?

Correct! But the Yanks don't know what "Dauphin" means (the eldest son of a French King), so they call the "Dauphin" a "Dolphin" instead.

Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion
Of course!
Going purely from memory (which is getting less & less reliable these days), didn't a Puma land on one of the carriers (while docked), for some official visit or other? Maybe it only landed close by - as I say, my memory isn't what it used to be!
Unless thay are counting that drone that paid an "unofficial" visit
Edit: Yes - it was a Puma, for President Zelensky's official visit. And the unofficial visitor was a DJI Mavic drone.

The Queen visited in her S-76 as well didn't she?
Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion
Assuming that MQ-9B STOL is adopted by the RN, will it be a bit oversized for the carrier's runway? It looks about ~20m wingspan and I believe the runway is a bit under-it. Either the Runway might have to be widened causing a more angled F-35 parking in parking positions FLY 1-3, or Fly 1-3 / Taxiway not being used at all during MQ-9B flying ops.
Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion
Probably stow most of the airframes in the hanger or the stern when operating MQ9b - lots of clearence... got to be atlest 40m width clear flightdeck excluding the islands from a 70m width ????
Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion
There's good reason why The Admiralty, having recently pioneered nearly every carrier innovation, chose a near parallel landing runway for the CVA-01 design.
Effectively creates two separate runways from the flight deck, one purely for launch and the other for both launch and recovery.
