Pity it won't inspire the UK government to invest more in the UK defence budget aswell

The UK equipment and support plan over the same time is 240 billion if you look at the French equipment and support plan it is lower than this . The head line figure of 428 billion sounds great but the UK will match this over the same time frame

Looks like reality has run head first into the French equipment plan (see the Australian one for a further example...).



Headlines
Air

- Rafale Air: target reduced from 185 to 157.
- A400M and C130: target reduced from 53 aircraft in all to 49 (35 A400M and 14 C-130 H and J)
- MALE Drones: 2030 target reduced from 8 systems (24 drones) to 6 systems (18 drones), including 5 Reaper systems and one Eurodrone system
- ALSR Intelligence Aircraft: Target 2030 reduced from 8 to 3 aircraft. Archangel/Cuge target (electronic warfare) does not move, at three planes
- The 2030 target for the Phénix MRTTs is not moving either, at 15 devices. The refurbished Mirage 2000D target goes from 55 to 48
- The most spectacular target reduction is that of the Joint Light Helicopter (HIL) Cheetah. The 2030 target drops from 169 devices to 20
Navy
- The 2030 target of FDI frigates is reduced from 5 to 3. The target of first-tier frigates remains at 15 (8 FREMM + 2 FDA + 3 FDI + 2 renovated FLF)
- The 2030 target for SDAM drones goes from 15 to 8. Maritime patrol aircraft see their target increase from 12 to 18. The AVSIMAR Albatros target at the same deadline goes from 13 to 8
- The patrol vessel target remains at 19 ships by 2030
Army
- Caesar's 2030 target remains unchanged at 109.
- Refurbished Leclerc tanks go from 200 to 160.
- EBRC Jaguar goes from 300 to 200,
- Griffon from 1,872 to 1,345
- Patroller tactical drone target 2030 seems to go from 5 systems to 17, if I understand correctly
- Target 2030 of NH90 TTH helicopters goes from 74 to 81, including 18 in special forces version
- 2030 target for SAMP/T ground-air defense systems: it remains at eight systems (12 by 2035)
New Requirements
- three anti-drone (LAD) programs: target of 12 Serval LAD armored vehicles, 20 naval LAD systems, and 15 Parade systems

Yep 2% of gdp buys only a certain amount especially if you have to finally fund a support budget!

We are very gd at the paper orbats too

Is the budget fixed or still up to parliament to vote on this article suggests that parliament is being asked to increase such

The HELMA-P laser weapon system was successfully tested aboard French Navy (Marine Nationale) Horizon type Air Defense destroyer Forbin (D620) between June 12 and 14, 2023.

EBRC Jaguar is a disaster?

It was said in the French senate in March that the turret was not stabilised due to a software issue and would not be resolved until mid-2024. Further concerns were raised about the delivery of vehicles out to 2030.

I'm paraphrasing this robo-voice video. I don't have the references.

Yes everyone loves to knock Ajax and Warrior upgrade for being slow but Jaguar is not fully delivering maybe the CTA-40 and all the new kit is a handful to mount in a turret 3 projects 3 turrets all delayed
