Wait 2 carriers with planes?

This is very pleasing, but it's only 10 UK jets across the 2 carriers...an average of 5 on each....They need to get on with standing up the next couple of squadrons and buying the airfares required to do it

Isn't it 8 on QE and 4 on PWLS ?

Thought it was 8 US and 6 UK on HMS QE for a total of 14...but maybe I'm misremembering...

Just had a thought....we've had lots and lots of pictures from CSG21...but...

To my knowledge we've seen none of Merlin Crowsnest or of Wildcat with Sea Venom...both of which were supposed to be present. Bit unusual for the RN not to highlight them....hopefully not because things might not be going well..

Sea Venom, is a new system and may not yet been deployed.

Crowsnest, I suspect the Royal Navy decided for reasons best known to themselves, not to release photographs of its operations for PR purposes or they feel it needs to be secret, or Tempest414 explanation.

Thats possible, but they did make a point of them being available and deployed on CSG21...which wasn't playing it down. Going from that position to total silence is a little odd...

No-one was expecting it to be deployed but the RN said it was going as a test before it went operational.

Usually when the Forces go totally silent on something they've previously lauded there are issues, a photo of a Crowsnest operating from QE
gives an enemy nothing..

I seem to remember a post ( maybe twitter ) of a wildcat with Sea venom missiles operating from one of the frigates within the strike group - dont think i imagined it....

This is possibly an interesting development that may be taken up by the R.N for the defence of task forces unmanned ships carrying automated containers that are cued to sensors of manned ships and able to address threats from much further away from the ships being protected
