Neither has Babcock's.
But if both yards have kept 70% of the works force then they have built ships in the case of Babcock Appledore 4 90m Samuel Beckett class OPV's on time and on budget. So yes Babcock and a number of the work force at Appledore have built low end navel ships
Appledore built the Irish PBs. Babcocks had very little, if anything, to do with it.

PS didn't the remaining Appledore workforce, some 60 folk, get offered jobs at Devonport?

Babcocks name was on the door at the time the Irish OPV's were built so clearly had something to do with it if only making sure they were built on time and on budget and I do not remember the Irish having any problems with glue on bolt heads and the like in fact they were so happy they added one to the order

Yes,
"PS didn't the remaining Appledore workforce, some 60 folk, get offered jobs at Devonport?"
that happened, but in the reporting it was said that the whole idea was to keep them there (in the region, not to disperse despite the offer including an arduous commute for many)
- the whole story - the many of them building up over time - smacks of the MoD knowing of a need to build some smaller class
- as we are overstocked in OPVs, what does that leave? MCM? Ship-to-shore connectors of a novel (License?) design? Answers on a postcard, please

So when Johnson said:
“There are potential contracts, and for reasons of commercial confidentiality and because of the procurement process I can’t go into the things that I would like to see, but I am hopeful.
Is this what he was referring to. A new ferry for the Isles of Scilly?

Ferries: Isles of Scilly
Asked by Lord Berkeley
To ask Her Majesty's Government what progress they
have made in considering the Strategic Outline
Business Case submitted by the Isles of Scilly
Transport Board to the Department for Transport for
improved services and investment in new craft;
and what plans they have to place an early order for
such craft for the Isles of Scilly with the Appledore
Shipyard. [HL7844]
Baroness Vere of Norbiton: The Government’s focus
during the current pandemic has been on ensuring that the
transport providers which serve the Isles of Scilly stay
operational throughout the Covid-19 outbreak and
continue to provide vital services. In April 2020,
Government provided up to £10.5 million for lifeline
ferry and freight service operators to the Isle of Wight and
the Isles of Scilly and continues to work closely with the
operators, local stakeholders and other Departments to
provide clarity over support for autumn, winter and
beyond.
We are aware that the Isles of Scilly Transport Board
are working on proposals to improve transport services.
We look forward to discussing these proposals with the
Isles of Scilly Transport Board in due course.
The procurement of any new craft would be subject to
competitive tender in accordance with the applicable
rules.

The current ferry is over 40 years old and suffered major mechanical problems last year. It was built by Appledore.

Also posted on UK Shipbuilding thread:

I am as convinced as anyone with no hard evidence can be that this is what Boris Johnson was referring to when he hinted of a possible contract for Appledore.

A 70 metre-ish, 500-ish capacity, catamaran ferry, designed for shallow draught operations. Possibly hybrid electric propulsion.

There is some circumstantial evidence.

* Infrastrata have identified ferries as one of their five key markets
* Infrastrata have said they are targeting "other government departments such as the Home Office and Department for Transport [offering] an exciting and cost-effective domestic option for a number of smaller vessel builds that are in the pipeline in the months to come".
* We've had a recently asked Parliamentary question about the Strategic Outline Business Case submitted by the Isles of Scilly
Transport Board to the Department for Transport for improved services and investment in new craft.

Not to mention that many of the Scottish islands are up at arms about their connections disappearing, with no replacements in sight
