Navy Lookout said in a tweet VMFA-211 embarking on board next week, presumably at sea.

Sadly not, she is not yet certified for F35 ops but will be doing further helicopter trials after passing FOST I guess.

QNLZ is sailing on Saturday from what I've heard in the dockyard, likely around an hour later as it coincides with high tide.

(Forces News) 28th April 2021
The Royal Navy’s largest deployment in more than a decade is to begin next week, taking in more than 40 countries and lasting more than six months. The Carrier Strike Group, led by HMS Queen Elizabeth, will include American and Dutch ships, and will also carry British and US F-35 fighter jets.

(The Telegraph) 29th April 2021
The final preparations are being made as the aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth as she is readied to set sail on Saturday from Portsmouth Naval Base for exercises off Scotland before heading to the Indo-Pacific region.

The £3 billion warship, with eight RAF and 10 US Marine Corps F35B stealth fighter jets on board, will depart for Asia accompanied by six Royal Navy ships, a submarine, 14 naval helicopters and a company of Royal Marines.

Decent article explaining why the Marines are keen to deploy 10 aircraft on QNLZ and what they want to get out of it for themselves

Some nice closeups in these videos. Best viewed full-screen (f).

Correct, 16th November 2019 when PoW arrived for first time (and commissioning), and was then joined on 4th December 2019 by QE, back from WESTLANT19.

There really ought to be a 3rd QEC, sitting in a 3rd Berth/Dry Dock situated where No. 2 Basin is currently located, Thus enabling 2 x Carriers to be at sea whenever required.

The BBC documentary is also something to look forward to, so we can see the CSG working close up

Almost worth paying the licence fee for that alone

Wonder if the strike group will occasionally pop up on the marine traffic web site

Anyone live on the IOW? AIS for both carriers appear to be off but there is an abundance of warships congregating in that area.
