I wonder if expectations are finally meeting realities.
I suspect you will likely be able to count the number of spare engines in the entire force on the fingers of one hand and they’re will be plenty of space in the carrier to carry as many as you wish.

Didn't Donald just say that he will bring it back home... all of it? - a nice way to have a sovereign capability (I mean: more like, not to have it in the long run) Perhaps we can soon forget about what he says, no? Did started pulling some engineering contracts back to Texas in May under the cover...

Re: Current & Future Amphibious Capability - General Discussion
However I doubt there is enough merlins to have 4 on one. Quite a few were marinised as troop carriers? - v tight with ASW/ AEW Merlins Yes a fleet of 25 transferred from the airforce. This I believe leaves a round 10 available to deploy after other tasks/maintenance taken into account. Of that 10 ...

They should really be called multi role support ships. The roles being defined what they carry. The bay has always been the ideal candidate as its basically what they’ve been doing for years fwd deployed. However I doubt there is enough merlins to have 4 on one.

I would say like most of the Nordic countries they have a limited budget so don’t have money to burn they need to get a clear idea of what they want to
do be pragmatic about what’s possible and then buy what’s needed. It would never catch on over here.

The bill expects the Gripen C/D to be “an important part of the war organization beyond 2030,” while noting that C/Ds can also be employed for advanced training. Currently, Sweden has 60 Gripen Es on order - IF Finland buys Gripen, then the pipeline will double (I doubt that they will, or can, doub...

- that clearance figure seems to be hard to find? http://www.b737.org.uk/techspecsngs.htm#side How do you read the two 'height' figures given and their small difference? Re: Boeing P-8A Poseidon (MRA Mk.1) (RAF)
I tried to verify the concerns of the early operators of the NGs with much improved bypass engines, namely that the ground clearance was so much less than on earlier models that the use of some airfields could become not feasible That’s why you have those flattened lower surface on the NG nacelles ...

I can understand the decision especially if they are wishing to maximise helicopter landing spots and if they see f35b primarily in an air defence configuration. Maybe we will send a flight out East for exercise to integrate on the ship at some point.

As for those numbers (the difference in quantities is interesting) and esp. "Obviously both massively exceed the €9.3 billion budget" they are for (or with) all optional extras, not all options to be taken up - more importantly, over the 30-yr life span two MLUs have been calculated to ta...
