First 6 Greek Rafale F-3R (4 single, 2 twin seat) were delivered to Tanagra Air Base on the 19th of Jan 2022, another batch are expected later this year with a 3rd batch arriving in 2023 - presumably the 6 arriving in 2023 will be the 6 new builds they ordered from the original 18. https://theaviati...

Re: The war in Ukraine
Additionally the lack of use of German airspace for RAF planes has not been fully explained either. There's a few nuances to this ... First of all, UKDJ published their opinion as fact early on (that Germany had denied airspace use) which was then retracted two days later, but the damage had been d...

German Naval Chief resigns following his comments about Russia regarding Ukraine - no explanation needed, just watch the video in the article and see why that made Ukraine pretty unhappy.

Article from TheWarZone (2 days old) covering the transit of those 6 amphibious warfare ships transiting to the Med. Will happen in April and May, by that time the crisis in Ukraine might be over. There's probably another force that has responsibility for the tasking until that time. Did some digging and the last few rotations have been RAF (Typhoon) -> RCAF (F/A-18) -> Italy (Typhoon). 4 Italian Typhoons arrived...

To be honest if it’s just disaster relief, law enforcement and the such like I wouldn’t have fwd presence at all other things to spend the money on. Trouble is being a 'global nation' means we have global responsibilities, i'd sooner have a River doing that sort of work than a frigate or RFA support...

They're responding to the next crisis (which doesn't actually exist yet). Normally that's pretty admirable, but they're only doing this now because they know they can't respond to the one that actually matters today.

No, but if MOD won't shell out for an interim weapon for an optimistic 6 year gap, I doubt they'll do it in future when FCASW is even closer

I agree however we could see NSM and Maybe Mk-41 with Tomahawk Blk V by 2030 if we wanted Probably not, we can't even stump up the money for I-SSGW. Type 31 #1 hits the water in 2027 and FCASW is supposed to be operational at sea in 2028. Why waste time and money bringing in NSM at all in that case?

But didn't they say that DDX will replace at least part of Ticos? CG's are having their role absorbed by Flt III DDGs but that doesn't mean they need to design it as a Tico replacement. This is due to the increased numbers being purchased and operated together. e.g. You only see 1 CG per carrier gr...
