.338 Norma Magnum, not the Lapua. I can't see them replacing anything till the Americans decide what to do, could be expensive if they have to go over to the new calibre before the new weapons have even filtered through, I suppose in five years time they might be thinking the Yanks will have sorted ...

Quite right. I believe the driver for the choice will be the need for a protected ambulance. Secondary is a troop transport that does not cost an arm and a leg (money terms!) - for the latter the new Finnish Sisu sets a cost benchmark (half a mln), but is too low in the back for ambulance use, so n...

Re: Apache Attack Helicopter (British Army Air Corps)
The original Brimstone had the same airframe as Hellfire so the same range, about 10-12 km from a helo. It's only with Brimstone 2 that the range increased. The manufacturer claims it's been doubled. That version has only been available for a couple of years and I don't think anyone has acquired it...

"about as sophisticated as K-9", good point, so why not buy K9 then ? It will be 40% cheaper and maybe 30% when fully automated. Err, at the boot straps level it is British: the suspension has been licensed from the AS90 design ( the origins of it) why not go a step further and buy the Po...

If Boxer is chosen could the module be adapted to also be mounted on a Ajax frame to allow higher levels of armour. KMW Donar was the first vehicle designed with the 155mm Turret, it's based on the GDELS ASCOD 2 https://www.kmweg.com/home/artillery/autonomous-howitzer/donar/product-information.html

May be , with better sensors/ 360-view, the time is now to repeat this (Swedish) concept with a 120mm gun (130; the new Rhenmetall piece?) using a Ch2 hull and drivetrain (even power should be OK, with weight going down): http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lbswAiIUNQE/U9aM02A_lpI/AAAAAAAABCk/exgPax1Rd7s/s16...

Thales Rapidfire can be equipped with six Starstreak, or even Thales LMM, 40mm CTA Cannon firing airburst and six LMM would be enough for any drone.

Please justify the statement that the T45 is the most advanced BMD platform in the world. Well, I read both articles and one said they're the most modern AAW ships in the World, can you quote the bit that says they're the most advanced? Semantics, yes, but it could read differently however you want...

There also seems to be some contraption with substantial weights on it holding the vehicle in one place, obviously they didn't want the vehicle to move. Also there's a green bit of metal attached to the barrel off of the contraption, which may be stopping the recoil dead, judging by the amount of wi...

Italian ships are cheaper because they are not built to the same standards of survivability as the UK & US. Whoever says that is telling bullshit stories. The only ship more survivable than italian ones (which, with the exception of the old "Santi" class LPDs are all built according t...

^ Exactly. Fact: Wales is not and never has been a country. Wales is now a region of England. Before 1542, it was a Principality. And before that, a group of mini Kingdoms ruled by various ancient celtic kings. total bollocks to be honest, Wales was an independant united country for a very short wh...

Fair play, I'd never heard of them firing it that way, although there is a picture on google that's the only reference I'd ever seen, but why would they use that method in the Falklands when they can fire them off the 3 missile launcher? pic for reference: http://www.army-technology.com/projects/sta...

Two things with that Daily Express article, it's Tenby in Wales not 'Telby', and they're not 'shoulder mounted missiles' at all, they're on a ground mount and carry three missiles at a time, pedantic I know but annoying when they get things wrong. http://www.shephardmedia.com/media/images/article/LM...

HMS Vanguard would be my choice, the biggest and best battleship to see service with the RN, imagine her where HMS Belfast is now.
