helpfully lordjim and digger22 answered my last question ,thanks .but next one is why does the official line that qe is 65k tons and other people quote 70k ,which is it really? .5k a lot of difference ,a type 23 frigate difference .I know the engineer said 70600k so why is it always in reports on me...

Can anybody tell me why qe only official design speed 26 kts when a lot of other new carriers are 29 -30 ish ,why is that ?.I know it might be able to do a it's or 2 faster but seams a low ball target in the first place ,

I agree the usn and coast guard have helped us loads and the French for that matter ,talking of the French does anybody think they will change their mind and build a second carrier ,I know they stopped the last program but new leader etc and increasing the defence budget .hope so be great to see

money and the lack of it I think ,they would do more but don't have enough cash and try to cover all the high end bases but lack the funds to do it properly and complete the full spectrum so things get missed/excluded its all a game of compromise and hope sometime down the line we will get the missi...

Thinking about it apart from one carrier being 16yrs old etc if both were new qe class or French c de g I really don't know which I'd pic tbh both have their merits I quess ,I kind of wish we had gone the French route tho truth be known but glad at least its something better than hms ocean at least

To be fair to our neighbors and there pocket carrier ,they could have said the same thing to us since 2001 lol, and its nearly as large in reality maybe displacement different but physical size not a lot in it ,and a lot would argue a lot more capable but I know your only saying in jest cj.

Why disappointed fella,probably just get it painted and do first sea testing see how many snags there are first ,then fix everything up looking good when happy everything works ,just the normal process I think old chap

There is no way that Australia or Canada are going to touch the type26, even if we started production .they will look and put on shortlist becouse its the most up-to-date design but cost will scupper it ,like I said fremm Canada and Spanish route for Australia ,anything else wouldn't make sense for ...

So the upshot is we get 8 type 26 slightly more suitable for asw or we could have had 16 fremm for the same price or there abouts and not have to spend on type 31 or use money too up arm the fremm more or spend on something else needed ,people might say well its prob going to be best asw frigate but...

no chances of selling any to other countries at them prices ,Canada will go fremm and Australia will go navantia that's the way I see it maybe Australia fremm also ?,but neither will go type26 route they would be insane at them prices only the uk is that crazy folks,next will be 550million for each ...

Great footage all round ,well done everybody involved ,hats off to you all .listening to captain Kyd he noted that the carrier was over 75mtrs wide ,I never knew that thought was 70mts kept reading everywhere .you learn something everyday folks and again well done everybody .
