Re: Your favorite "what could have been" military AC

Oh, and the Buccaneer P.150 would have been great. This might be heresy, but I'd much prefer that we'd went down this route than TSR.2, if only because it might have had a chance of entering service. I can't decide which is sexier, the Jag or Buc. Both have that dirty look with all sorts of angles,...

Re: Your favorite "what could have been" military AC

There's also a TSR2 thread ;) The F.20 was an excellent idea. If it had been allowed to continue it would/could have been a brilliant export success. The YF.23 just looked right. I can't recall where but there were internet rumours of this type being developed into a strategic recon asset. Maybe / ...

Re: USA Armed Forces

I enjoyed the 2nd vid. Cheers :D My grandfather used to tell me when I was knee high how popular the Sherman was. Particularly in North Africa. Cheers mate! Good to see. I need to re-read some books to get some perspective on the Sherman again. I recall variants being used by the IDF in the 60's an...

Re: USA Armed Forces

Second video is a bit harsh on the Firefly though, given those tests were conducted with substandard ammunition and were even noted as so in the very report he cites. Firefly with proper ammo had no real accuracy problems, certainly not to the extent he talks about. "The Chieftain" is wel...

Re: USA Armed Forces

Is there much information on the M1A3 being introduced in 2017, the newly upgraded Abrams is described as having a diesel engine and redesigned tracks for better mobility, there is no information if a f35b type situational awareness type helmet will be introduced but I have been told this has been ...

Re: L1A1 - Any old timers to regale us?

Thank you gents for the great photos and feedback. Am curious if those of you who used both extensively, do you prefer the L85A1 or L1A1. I realize different philosophy of use but for GP use?

Nostalgic vid:

L1A1 - Any old timers to regale us?

Am curious of your experiences with the L1A1 (or is it SLR?):
- Optics used, if any.
- Disbursement in a squad- L1A1, Sterling? what else?
- Did it have a grenade launcher adaptor?
- Complaints
- Accolades

Thanks.

Re: Glock 17

Tidy, I like it. Then again I prefer the Sig. Thanks for the feedback. Do you know if the Generation 4 G17’s used by the BA comes with the interchangeable backstraps with and without beavertail to fit end-user? Or is it “1 size fits all”? I have a few Gen 3 and Gen 4’s. With big hands, the beaverta...

Re: Glock 17

I've not heard anything from the BA so far. I did hear this week that a couple of different 9mm Glocks (can't recall exactly which models) are now the preferred handguns of SOCOM. Our SOCOM can carry what makes the most sense: http://www.usacarry.com/forums/groups/glock-owners-d186-us-socom-glocks....

Glock 17

Greetings from ND, USA. As our Beretta M9 continues to hang on as our "Big Army" sidearm of choice (or only choice) , some of us in the know look abroad longingly at the wise choice to go with the Glock 17. Am curious how it is being received and performing for you? Any consistent complain...
