Interesting to see QNLZ coming in with forward lift in the down position, I don't think I have seen that before.
I wonder if it is stuck.
Also a USMC jet on deck with fan doors open. Is that likely to be a fault?

Re: Current & Future Escorts - General Discussion
Shouldn't the 'mothership' debate start with a list of functions carried out by the Hunts/Sandowns/Bays followed by an analysis of how this has to change (if it does) with the unmanned alternative? Presumably someone at MOD procurement will then turn this into the tender specifications. I would be i...

Re: Current & Future Escorts - General Discussion
Many of the examples quoted indicate the obvious point that you need the right number and type of ships each with the appropriate equipment for the job in hand. Force Z, OK for flag waving but unbalanced and far too small for conflict with the IJN. The failure to remove it from the region immediatel...

The issue of asymmetric warfare and surprise attack is an interesting and topical one. HMS York sunk by Italian motor boats in Souda Bay, HMAS Sydney sunk by Kormorant and most recently Armenian tanks destroyed by Azerbaijani drones/loitering munitions are obvious examples. A combined drone and moto...

Looks like the 'Diversity & Inclusion' class will have to wait.

When it comes to ship names the RN is a bit like the Aristocrat who has downsized and ended up with far too much ancient furniture for their new place. Pick and mix just makes it obvious that your estate is smaller these days so you need to be ruthless, more selective and do small with the style and...

If the RN have been sitting on photos of the two carriers together at sea then they are now stuck with the problem that releasing them will be seen as baguette waving at this critical time for Anglo/French relations. My stick is bigger than yours and I have two! Also, if true, didn't this happen bef...

Is anyone else getting a slightly pompous vibe from the Commodore's posts?
Big achievement as it is for the RN to get this far it might be wiser to take a more modest approach this early in the deployment.

There is not much new news out there so for those interested in the harbour rules when one of the carriers enters or leaves Portsmouth:

Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion
Not great but at least 1) the fault came to light in the home port, 2) POW is not needed for operations at the moment, 3) fix can be applied to both ships in class and 4) it wasn't a serious fire.

Re: F-35B Lightning (RAF & RN)
Not knowing about these things but out of interest, is there any reason why you couldn't use a test aircraft for OCU purposes (assuming you didn't need it for testing anymore)?
Incidentally, the mock up at Hendon is pretty rubbish but I suppose it is better than nothing.

I think 1/1250 is pretty standard for diecast. If you want a Rolls Royce diecast model you need to go here but they don't have a QNLZ model. http://www.navis-neptun.de/produkte/datenbank/1114_e.html Looks like Airfix is thinking about it: https://www.corgi.co.uk/news/workbench/all-hail-the-mighty-vu...
