Re: Type 26 Frigate (City Class) (RN) [News Only]
Could I put it to you this is all just smoke and mirrors that the people with the purse strings don't like the cost and just trying to wiggle out of the t26 design for something cheaper, with a American led report helping this and other foreign companies putting boot in as is the business way to buy ...

Re: Australian Defence Force
They want it but don't want to pay for it,never a truer words said,it comes down to defence cost loads and if it down on your list of vote winners it just not going to get the adequate defence you need, that's the bottom line, which is ok until someone like China rocks up near Australian shores and a...

Re: Australian Defence Force
Why does UK have dedicated single role ships and not more all rounders ,are the others wrong or are we ? Not an expert can't answer that for cost and numbers , would we get more ships of single class or less because tech more are on them and would it be jack of all trades and master of none ,or is t...

Re: Future UK Combat Aircraft (Project Tempest)
I can't see SCAF program ending tbh,too important for the European dream of France/Germany future defence industry going forwards Germany will just have to tow the French line on the fighter and get something back on the unmanned side of things if I'm not wrong,, could it be I can't read the article...

Just my own humble opinion but I don't think I india would every buy from the UK a major jet fighter, they have a historical dislike of the UK brand in my own opinion, think that's why maybe Germany was leading the negotiations for India ,think India will go with Rafael again, think France got that one...

Re: Current & Future Amphibious Capability - General Discussion
Not a good look - the first thing the RN needs to learn is living within its means. The whole suggestion of 6 MRSS just looks like a bad joke, let’s start by getting two LPDs active. Difficult to fully understand the delay when Bulwark was supposed to have been maintained in a much better state of ...

Re: Future UK Combat Aircraft (Project Tempest)
It does look like we are developing a modern 5th gen aircraft like the rest of the world, playing catch up to the Americans which is ok ,but I think the Americans, possibly the Chinese? Will be making the 6th gen looking aircraft, but as said even if we developing a 5th + aircraft or in other words a...

Reported US DOD buying some of the 60 ex-Dutch Gepards from Jordan for Ukraine through an intermediary, how many of the 60 involved under the contract not mentioned. The Gepard has been reported to have been very effective in Ukraine (the Dutch version uses different radars to the German version). ...

Is the kf 21 a more advanced fighter than the typhoon offering to Poland, more stealthy I'm guessing so able to survive better in the Russian environment? Or is it cheaper than typhoon?,I'm sure someone above my pay grade will tell me

I'm not going to defend France on their way of doing things , definitely not but french intransigence definitely yes but the at the back of it the french also know they could just go it alone and build the future fighter themselves and probably be a great sales success again after alot of dicking ab...

Is the mail going To go down the carriers are useless and a drip ,drip slow campaign to sell one ,as said by the labour oppsition leader about not sure tilt to Asia, could be lining up to sell one ,or giving anough bad press to pubic ,that no dissent when do ,that's my take on this ,but the navy and...

I've got an idea for 6th gen vertical tail / tailless designs ,both have merits for different flight characteristics stealth tradeoffs ,how about having a twin tails that lay flat for stealth in tail shaped recessed areas on top of main wings but lift up say 30degrees for max manoeuvrability ,so bes...

Re: Future UK Combat Aircraft (Project Tempest)
Or it may be that the French don’t really want or need an F22 class platform. They’re not a frontline air defence state, they’re not an island (or quasi Island like Italy ). Mirage 2000 wasn’t an F15 class platform. Mirage 3 was alot smaller than an F4. IMHO the programs are looking nicely compleme...
