Re: Apache Attack Helicopter (Army Air Corps)
I see from Gab's twitter the first Apache's have been flown to the states for to be rebuilt as E's. Happen a lot sooner than I though usually these thing drag on forever. Any work on Brimstone with them yet? Would have thought you would save some $$ by using the QE as a ferry on her way over for fa...

Re: Australian Defence Force
Maybe if they have bought C-295? Maybe on price point, but I remember reading a slide in the early stages of the compition between the two and the equipment that could be fitted into C27J and commonality between pallets not having to be broken down was the overriding conclusion from what I remember...

Re: Australian Defence Force
Luckily, RN don't needs such nonsences like CEC. Originally the plan was to equip the 6xT45, 13xT23 so at least 19 units which was dropped for cost reasons. Is there any indication of what it will cost now to fit to the Australian ships and how many units in total? As far as I'm aware that all the ...

Re: Current & Future Escorts - General Discussion
Would be great if the RN did shift to the Mk41 completely, can fit loads on a T45 with the higher packing density and reserved space. A common silo across the fleet is of course a big benefit. CEAFAR wold be great to introduce in a later T26 batch, and hopefully the Auzzies will be doing all the ha...

Hi all I'm a little bit perplexed why the UK wants to move from the Sylver Vertical Launching System to the US MK41, are they intending to replace for the whole fleet eventually or just making noise to garner support for Sea5000 and perhaps CEA radars for UK ships https://www.naval-technology.com/ne...

That would come down to the importance of the mission, irrespective if you had 6 or 26 boats.Timmymagic wrote:. SF would love the capability as well, at the present in the event of there being any major conflict the chances of them getting a lift on one of the few SSN's must be vanishingly small in reality.

Question for Australians: When the magnetic poles flip/reverse, are you going to rename your country Borealia? I think you will have a few more problems to worry about if it happens, However, if the magnetic field gets substantially weaker and stays that way for an appreciable amount of time Earth ...

Re: Brexit - The UK's EU Referendum & Withdrawal
Apologies for being so pessimistic, but having reluctantly voted for Brexit on the perception that being in the EU reduced U.K. sovereignty, I am now convinced that leaving the EU will be an economic catastrophe resulting in a huge loss of status, influence and power for the U.K. For supporters of ...

If the T31 was to become a hybrid (amphibious) Support frigate with the onboarding of OMT to the Babcock-led industry group, what would a revised T31 spec look like? - @8,000t, 130+m length - 20+ kts, range @7,000nm+ - NGFS medium gun - PDMS CIWS and CAMM - Artisan 3D radar - 2 LCVPs (or equivalent...

I can see the Kiwis going for a MPA without ASW capability for their next platform. Patrol and SAR seem to be more important. If they do that no need for P8, They can get away with an Ocean Sentry type aircraft and tie in with transports commonality Don't know what Ocean Sentry is, but A-400Ms with...

Got a bit of CRAFT at the moment, but didn't you just buy a heap of Chooks?
