Canada have gone for old Australia FA-18's, IMHO if they wanted typhoon they would have put the rfi out sooner.

Re: F-35B Lightning II (RN & RAF)
I always thought that it was one third down for maintenance, a third for training and the final third for deployment.topman wrote:I (strongly) suspect many people on places such as this will be disappointed when it comes to deployed numbers of the F35.
Is that still the case?

Re: Turkish Armed Forces
Can't really imagine what use the Harrier would be? If they already had a few in service and wanted to bump up their fleet fair enough, but the differences between the two are that great (from flying ability to maintenance), I just can't see the point.

Re: F-35B Lightning II (RN & RAF)
So there's the easy fix...
The Ministry : So you don't want the F-35B?
Crab : No Sir
The Ministry : OK, the Navy can have all the B's we can afford.
Crab : So how many A's will we get?
The Ministry : A's? No you can have a few extra Tiffies instead.

Wondering if Israel knows about this? They may like letting the septics buy them stuff, but I can't imagine that they tell them how or who they use them on.

Got to be honest Ron5, I don't see how its an irrelevant observation. Also, A commitment, if broken would piss off a great deal of US politicians who lost F-35 work/jobs in their states to the UK Who's to say that that same work share would have stayed in the US? Italy, Japan or anyone else in the p...

There's no "plan" to buy 138 and there never has been. What exists is a commitment to the USA to buy 138 over the life of the program. A commitment, if broken would piss off a great deal of US politicians who lost F-35 work/jobs in their states to the UK. Be fair, do you really believe th...

I'm sorry my question is ridiculous, it's true that France does not buy a lot of British material, and that the British Army has evaluated the VBCI and several French equipment, I do not know why I asked this question  . Thank you for your understanding :) Don't take it to heart Frenchie, It'...

Maybe they have a reputation (similar to the Americans) were they love to sell to their "partners", but can always find an excuse not to buy from them.

Have a painting by Ronald Wong, called Return to the Future, of a TSR.2 flying low over a Loch in camo colours carrying esm/ecm pods, sidewinders and laser pod... Looks better than that pimped buccaneer
