Re: Typhoon
Will this jeopardise a future KSA order? If there was a slightest chance of that happening, I doubt the Qatari LOI would've gone ahead? Possible 72 airframes against a possible 24? The elephant in the room is that the neighbours are boycotting Qatar, so why would the UK risk a diplomatic upset? Som...

No wonder the US army is looking for a new bullet as the areas left for critical injury https://imgur.com/TfWzbzV are a small area of the total in the traditional (even more so, a kneeling one) target figure on the ranges I'm guessing that's the latest incarnation of Putin's "Little Green Men?...

I was expecting more to fly out to either the ship when she was underway or loaded onto a C17/AN124 and taken direct to the Caribbean.
Each method avoiding Spain completely.

If the entire fleet need turrets, a UOR will be initiated (probably) or all the vehicles on deployment will be the turreted version (Theatre Entry Standard).

Allowing for inflation the equivalent of £150m would be £243m today.KyleG wrote:Ocean only cost about £150m when it was built, so it going for £80m 20 years later doesn't sound a bad deal IMO.
If I bought a new car in 1998 for £15k and sold twenty years later for £8k, I think I'd be happy, too?

Bell 212's in Brunei. Contractor owned. AAC pays for the flight hours and then bills the Sultan. Bell 412's in Cyprus. Contractor owned. RAF pays for the flight hours and then bills the M.O.D. Or something very similar? Military using aircraft they haven't forked out for equals cost saving. Allegedly
