Re: Fantasy T31 and Fantasy Fleet Builder [New]

the best way to put this across is how I would uses this ships 1) 6 of the 8 56m fast patrol boats would be used in UK home waters 2 covering the North West down to south Wales 2 covering the East coast and 2 in the English channel the remaining 2 would be available for deployment with in Europe 2) ...

Re: Fantasy T31 and Fantasy Fleet Builder [New]

What I would like to see is a 3 tier patrol capability with 3 classes 1) 8 x 56m Vita fast patrol boat fitted with 57mm 2 x HMG and a rib with a Scanter 4100 radar and crew of 30 capable of 10 days at sea 2) 6 x B2 Rivers up gunned with 57mm 2 x HMG capable of 35 days at sea 3) 6 x Type 31 fitted wi...

Re: Current & Future Escorts - General Discussion

I agree with this and I also feel the Batch 2 Rivers will work well in western and central Med as part of migrant rescue and patrol mission. I would also class type 31 as a global patrol frigate

Re: Astute Class Attack Submarine (SSN) (RN)

If the RN want more attack subs in the next 25-30 years they will need to 1)buy them over seas or 2) build SSK's however were we would build a limited run of SSK I don't know again it would be cheaper to buy 4 type 214's off the shelf

Re: Fantasy T31 and Fantasy Fleet Builder [New]

I agree I think something like a modern day Jaguar Class fast attack craft 40m with a top speed of 40 knots and a range of 1000 nmi at 30 knots fitted with a 57mm + 2 x 50 cal. The Jaguar class had top speed of 42 knots and could do 700 nmi at 35 knots and was armed with 2 40mm + 4 torpedo tubes wit...

Re: Fantasy T31 and Fantasy Fleet Builder [New]

I have to say I like the build program as laid out somethings in the summing up are left open with room to talk ( making this a great post) with this in mind 1) I feel that any new LHP should have a ramp for F-35 ops this is not just for UK F-35s but could be used by USMC aircraft and would allow th...

Foresight is a big ask, and there "will be" more than 5 of them
... so a couple more?
however if HMG and MOD see it and say it enough they might start to use some of it

Maybe a Battle Class with HMS Hogue as the first of class or an Admiral Class with Hardy, Hawke or Howe?

Re: Type 31 General Purpose Frigate [News Only]

what is going on here is the RN trying hang on to the 8 type 26's and not lose any more of them to the type 31 I feel in the back ground type 31 will be more capable than people think. Arrow head 120 has room built in for a good armament fit but this is yet another case of not getting the best out a...

Thanks Donald. Very useful. If this is possible within the budget, is it now the front runner? Is it a credible (assuming good build standards/damage control) light FF? Would be interested in everyone's views on this. Aside from the low number of CAMM and no info regarding sonar, it seems considera...
