Re: River Class (OPV) (RN)

Rather striking, fairly odd ( in a good way) Not as good as the camo on Spey & Tamar but very cool.

Re: Type 32 General Purpose Frigate [News Only]

I know it's been said plenty of times before but how's about given the T31 is based on the Iver Huitfeldt class then use the bigger Absalon as the base of the T32. Lots in common but far more space for mother ship stuff on the Absalon. No need to reinvent the wheel when a perfectly good option is ri...

Re: Future ASW

By the comments made by my RAF mate over the weekend an additional batch to support my local P8s would be most welcome. He's still hopeful of 3 more P8s at Lossie but dedicated MPA drones would be a nice addition.

Re: Puma Helicopter (RAF)

The 149 certainly strikes me as the most sensible choice particularly when job creation & UK content is taken into account.

Perhaps wee ;) additional order for some weapons pylon equipped variants for the AAC. Punt the Wildcats off to the RN.

At about 3.30 mins in is the Merlin landing or on plane guard?

Awfully expensive chopper for that. Maybe should have kept some Lynx for that.

Why not make it a training vessel. Some nations navy's still operate a tall ship for training & cadets. Could we not do similar with this project ?

I await it flying over my house if it visits Lossie. Fair few houses it could do repeated low passes over to piss folk off

Re: Australian Defence Force

Interesting viewpoint though the cost of adopting the Canberra class for f35b operations was not included this would likely include a thermion coating to the deck and new radars before even the cost of the f35b acquisition, Australia has to of course compare the different options in meeting objecti...

We should however look to be able fit one or two of these on the Albion's as and when it could help to cover the LRG If it was feasible to do this then why (other than cost i guess) stop at the Albions. Role it out over as many of the auxiliaries as possible. Nothing in that case to stop the remain...

No moon pool? Would that not be the best way to deploy UUVs.

Though that'd limit the size available i guess?

I'd like to think given how effective the Merlin is that they would realise the benefit of keeping production going. Just look at how old the Chinook is for example.
