I can also flip the question and say why not have a flat top LPD ?
I agree on TB3.

Don't see how your flipping the question with flat top LPD.

Re: Current & Future Amphibious Capability - General Discussion

It is now clear that MRSS needs to be a flattop LPD design capable of operating Merlin , NMH, Apache , Wildcat and MALE drones plus operating Chinooks that would be hangared and maintained on the Carriers Considering that MRSS is supposed to replace 6 ships (2 Albion class, 3 Bay class and RFA Argu...

To be able to simultaneously load and launch multiple large helicopters / VTOL UAVs as part of an OTH operation - same logic why the Albion class can handle two Chinooks simultaneously.
Yes but a normal LPD can do that no?

Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion

On the plus side. 100 crew get new mattresses, we now know the sprinkler system works and the ship is on its way to Rosyth for maintenance anyway. NavyLookout is loyal to the RN but I think that shows up in more in what he doesn't report rather than how he reports. Exactly what I was about to say! ...

Medics treated the injured after fire ripped through mess decks and crew sleeping areas — destroying 100 beds.
Apparently the 100 beds destroyed is from the automatic fire suppression system, a.k.a fire sprinklers a.k.a water damage.

How many were fired to down the 2 drones? Five? It didn’t look like all those flashes and bangs were sea ceptor but not sure what they were It's difficult to tell as due to the darkness you can't se the cuts in the video. It’s a great idea but it might be best just to buy 50x UH-60 and immediately start the process of designing a universal helo design for joint use in the RAF, Army and RN. Already happening with the NATO Next-Generation Rotorcraft Capability (NGRC) program. Supposed to produce the Merlin replacement...
