Re: Type 31 Frigate (Inspiration Class) [News Only]
It’s only a guess but short term the real change will likely be around a need to maintain forces on the eastern nato border this would like see changes around readiness and spares and possibly UORs and have little to do with ships. Infact unless there much movement around the fabled nato 2% I doubt...

Re: The war in Ukraine
I go back to the Iraq war in 2003 for something roughly similar to what is happening only Ukraine is nearly twice the size and the population largely more hostile it took America and us arguably the most powerful force ever fielded over a month to take the capital. This is a war in its early days th...

Re: The war in Ukraine
I find the appearance of these video and there timing interesting, maybe to cynical but within a day of a argument over no fly ect and Ukraine firing a broadside at nato for not giving them one we see several videos of aircraft shoot downs appearing on social media, seems convenient. Re: Type 31 Frigate (Inspiration Class) [News Only]
A major war in Central Europe with hundreds of thousands of troops and hardly a ship in sight and the answer is more ships, need a pint of whatever is being consumed here.

Intel, Dispersed operations, Mobility, logistics, drones and missiles Drones and missiles become pretty useless without the targeting part of Intel. And of course dispersed operations will not work w/o mobility, and that combo will need mobility in logs, too (Stalwart was not only amphibious, but t...

God I hope the Powers that be do not follow that train of thought and accelerate the removal of "Sunset", capabilities causing even more Capability gaps as we wait for the promised "Wonder Weapons" to emerge in over a decades time. We might as well gift countries like Georgia an...

Re: General UK Defence Discussion
Has there been any offical word regarding the consideration of amending the Command Paper with regards to recent events. I know it has only been a week but it is a serious wake up call, and it should put a stop to the idea that money can be saved by reducing "Sunset" capabilities like hea...

General Sir Nick Carter: ‘Ukraine is a wake-up call’ https://www.ft.com/content/be9cd012-9d46-489d-8f05-972ab2379037?sharetype=blocked We are interrupted by the arrival of two gigantic slabs of Black Forest gateau, thickly filled with cream and syrupy black cherries. The constant buy American cause it cheaper narrative. What does this jdam with a laser nose do that a paveway 4 currently can’t? If your past early days of war then why bother with putting it on f35 at all. 1) - I'd gladly see a UK developed cheaper munition see service, but we've had years to do s...

jassm but it would be external only Yeah, that's what meant. Their range can compensate for loss of stealth. But being an economist I tend to say 'more is better' -i.e three instead of two. And the state capitalists may haave this weighing in, too: "Patria is owned by the State of Finland (50....

probably jassm Has it been integrated? NSM would be good for sinking any amphibs, but then again Sweden has RBS - only by courtesy of Thailand as they insisted that their Gripens come with anti-ship capability ... unlike the SCS, the Baltic is a sea of peace (so, at the time, the capability had bee...
