Re: EU Combined Military thread.
An opinion from Guy Verhofstadt: https://euobserver.com/opinion/153129 Europe's military weakness is indefensible! I don’t think he’s wrong and I’d include the UK in this of what the problems and issues are. I don’t however think a “EU army” works no national government would survive its citizens b...

Re: Multi Role Vehicle – Protected - MRV(P)
in this case as long as it takes using the Point class however someone will no doubt us know I think there would need to be significant rail and/or road moves as well. It would be interesting to compare with the gulf war and in twice because operating the armoured brigades in those conflicts were l...

How long would it take to deploy such a brigade from the U.K. to say Estonia and how long would we be able to sustain it there for.

Re: Rolls Royce Holdings plc
Gd new for Indianapolis but then America always supports America first. Don't forget the Indianapolis operation was originally Allison Engines, the F-130 came out of RR's collaboration with BMW. Ultimately though its great for RR in the UK as well, keeps the company competitive with regular revenue...

Re: Australian Defence Force
If the jassm out the back of a c17 or the like is made to work then it would give similar stand-off options to the likes of the b52, b1 that would be more than adequate for all and offer very long range punch for Australia and many others besides with out the maintenance overheads.

Re: Multi Role Vehicle – Protected - MRV(P)
Unfortunately the only way that would happen is if one of the planned Heavy BCTs was instead reorganised as a Light BCT. for me this what I would like to see 1 x Deep fires BCT 2 x Heavy BCT's ( based around Boxer ) 3 x Light BCT's ( based around Bushmaster) 1 x Air Assault BCT With the SF , SFSG a...

Re: Multi Role Vehicle – Protected - MRV(P)
There will be significant use for light mechanised forces I suspect much more use than anything else the army has or will have specially if some of the modern sensors are incorporated. I would agree and the UK would be in a good place if it had 3 x Light Mech BCT's with one based somewhere in the r...

Re: Type 26 Frigate (City Class) (RN) [News Only]
It is highly questionable why you’d invest in future high end surface warships to deal with China or Russia. It's not "or"....it will be both concurrently. As more and more naval assets get sucked into the Indo-pacific, the North Atlantic will become neglected again. The UK does not have ...

It is highly questionable why you’d invest in future high end surface warships to deal with China or Russia. When you decide what the uk needs to do alone and against whom or in a none US alliance requirements go down a lot because the opposition goes down a lot. Youre then left with what you wish t...

Showing what can be done using a highly capable design that considers production optimisation to a high degree and then concentrating on building and optimising the production line. Congrats to the Danes, Babcock and the RN for pushing it thru hopefully things continue to progress well.
