Re: 105mm L118 Light gun
Australia has over 100 L119 in storage....are we just providing training facilties and this is in fact Australian (or someone elses) L119? Hi Timmy. Australia sold its HAMELs back to BAe Systems some years ago and, as the guns turning up in Ukraine have Australian cammo, I strongly suspect those ar...

Re: RBSL Challenger 3 (Future) Main Battle Tank (British Army)
I think Abrams X was displayed with a fully hemispherical APS. Not really, it is presented with Trophy APS. Technically, T-14 Armata has vertical launching APS, together with horizontal one, but not sure if it is working (as there is no any public presentation of it) and, if it is, how effective it...

Re: Ground Based Air Defence
I'm still confused about this... Looks like Thales RapidRanger on URO Vamtac will be the Stormer replacement... RapidRanger on Vamtac is alread in service in Malaysia and Indonesia so might be ease of fielding...but does seem to ignore a Gun/Missile/EW solution like the Moog RiWP, which seems daft. ...

Re: Ground Based Air Defence
Looks like we know where the 150 Towed AA guns come from now... Hi Timmy. Do we have any better photos of this system in use in Ukraine? I'm afraid not. Turns out it 'might' not be the system supplied. There was a muzzle brake missing on the pic, which means it might be a Yugo built one. Still the ...

Re: F-35B Lightning (RAF & RN)
It's approaching that time of year when another delivery happens... Should be another flying shortly (BK-35/ZM169). Probably delivered together in late October/early November based on previous delivery cycles. The only question is if BK-31 which has been at Edwards AFB also comes over at the same t...

Re: MBDA Storm Shadow Missile (RAF)
This is strictly from the companies point of view. If there is enough money anything can be done, but I wonder if MBDA has the floor space and the staff to start Storm Shadow production up again in conjunction with other orders? MBDA may be hesitant take people off CAAM and brimstone right now as t...

Re: MBDA Storm Shadow Missile (RAF)
I don't follow missiles. Thinking of supplies to Ukraine, has Storm Shadow/Scalp production finished? France still has a production line for SCALP-EG in operation at the MBDA facilities in Bourges, its been used for export orders with Rafale. Not massive numbers, but according to Francis Tusa they'...

Re: UK Mobile Fires Platform
Apparently a decision has been made. I bet archer I hope so, but only if it involves more UK content, particularly the gun and barrel. I was originally a fan of the RCH155....but everytime I see one fire I wonder about the effect on the suspension, plus its a whole lot easier to support a MAN HX ba...

Re: Eurofighter Typhoon (RAF)
Did Egypt jusrt express an interest in Typhoon or are there signs it wants to buy some? I do not think that Poland would choose Typhoon over KF-21 if it is happy dealing with ROK/KAI. Last thing I heard was that Poland would like to buy out Indonesia's stake in the programme. Turkey? After putting ...

Re: Eurofighter Typhoon (RAF)
Sounds to me that worst case scenario Warton is going to become a support, subassembly, and upgrade business between now and the early 2030s. There's 63 fuselages to provide Spain / Quadriga plus 40 ECR2 upgrades (and more for KSA?). Also bear in mind Tempest is a revenue generating project. Warton...

Re: Eurofighter Typhoon (RAF)
I am not optimistic about KSA placing a follow on order unless price is no barrier. Same thing for another RAF order. Why pay for 4G Typhoon when 5G F-35 is cheaper, especially if F-35A. The peace dividend may be a thing of the past for the UK but that does not mean it is OK to spend extra funding ...

Re: Royal Artillery/Royal Horse Artillery future developments
If the Army have a braincell they'll purchase 2 Decoy systems for every Real one... Counter-intelligence batteries have been discussed recently by a few people with experience. It should be a question everyone is asking. If the RAF aren't contacting the people who made the F-35 replicas for the dec...

Completely missed this.... The Thales Nederland GM200 Radar has been selected as the Deep Find part of Project Serpens...no idea on numbers but delivery is apparently in 2029 with IOC in the early 2030's. These also have a significant air surveillance capability. Presumably they'll be mounted on MAN...

Could the German Electronic Warfare version be an option, do we have anything that does that job right now?
