Re: Ajax Armoured Vehicles (British Army)
Quick question(s) if I may - something I've been thinking over, but its got to the point where I actually need to know now ! I understand that Ares is designated as an APC and Warrior an IFV. Firstly what is the largest caliber RWS that could operate on an Ares in theory ? And secondly with that ca...

Re: Jackal and Coyote MWMIK (Army)
HMT400 fits in a Chinook - https://supacat.com/products/hmt/hmt400/ Yes it does (with new rollover bar probably not but it might be possible to temporary remove it I guess), yet The Parachute Regiment decided to switch from their Jackals back to LR WMIKs due their easier transportability. Just beca...

Re: M270 Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS)
Well they are intending to put it on the truck and offer it to the German Army. First prototypes for testing are expected in 2025 if contract is signed. But Germany is also showing interest in buying Euro-PULS as a replacement for MARS II.

Re: FV4034 Challenger 2 Main Battle Tank (British Army)
I still dont know why we dont get the Challenger 1's from Jordanian storage and send them to Ukraine after a quick refurb. How many of them are actually operational and could they be refurbished? And does Jordan wants to part with them? It is really hard to find any info about their state or number...

Re: The future form of the Army
Well as said something has to give and both the Armoured Brigades as it stands don't have organic Artillery and at a push it could have a Reserve 155m regt Well of course they do not, as FS is placing both 155mm regiments into DRS. And it is one of the puzzling think that no one so far properly exp...

Re: The future form of the Army
12th Armoured would be supported by the DRF So armoured brigade would not have artillery support? I mean MLRS is not a replacement for gun exactly, and it could never replace 155mm regiment. ... Exactor 2 I would not counting on its staying in the service. there are 12 full time Logistics and 14 En...

Africa is fast turning into the new grey zone https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8a-q4PQ1GU&t=509s Africa was always a grey zone but anyway ... I am not sure what would be a point of such brigade except saying it is for Africa without any additional explanation of concept. British forces in Mali,...

Regarding the composite rubber track I'm led to believe it is one continuous track if a track comes off or breaks can new track be refitted in the field or does it require specialised equipment? Yes, it is one continuous track. Apparently it could be replaced in the field but it will require some t...

Re: New Medium Helicopter [NMH] - (RAF & AAC)
Lets hope it is 44 as said I think it should 60+ and they also need to be Carrier capable with some form of folding rotor head It would probably be less than 44. Number of platforms that NMH will replace (Puma, Bell 212 & 412, Dauphin) is around 35, maybe even less as seems like not all of 23 P...

Like the camo scheme on the cab. Be good to have a few in service but its still in development. I think that camo is standard Rheinmetall for their presentation vehicles. Among first 528 ordered Boxers, there are 28 designated as mortar carriers. If I am not wrong, currently these will carry mortar...

I am proposing a highly lethal blocking force which is completely self sufficient for 72hrs to 96hrs. Not really an issue for Airborne forces. After that NATO will have the heavy brigades and artillery moving in to support. For airborne force with supplies dropped by planes like A400 or C-17 no, fo...

Re: Warrior Armoured Vehicles (British Army)
The biggest lesson relearned I see from Ukraine is dont lose territory it’s incredibly expensive to take it back no matter who you are. In the case of future war, losing territory is inevitable, unless you are expecting that NATO will heavily fortify whole border with Russia, with trenches, strongp...
