I'd rather see a turreted mortar (NEMO or AMOS) on a CV90 than anything else. More mobile, better protected. Doesn't reward GD UK for shitty performance on Ajax & Morpheus.

Re: F-35B Lightning (RAF & RN)
I don't think it was ever intended for F-35B to operate just from CV. The original program name was Future Carrier Borne Aircraft (FCBA). The RAF swung into action and stole the program, renaming it to Joint Combat Aircraft. Idiot politicians let them get away with it, more than happy for RAF inter...

Re: Current & Future Amphibious Capability - General Discussion
It’s dumb beyond belief that selling or removing a carrier is actually a discussion, only in the UK Three reasons: RAF, RAF owning Naval Aviation, & Russian trolls (including those on the UK's left wing). I find it amusing that since writing that he didn't want to turn this into an anti-carrier...

Re: Future UK Combat Aircraft (Project Tempest)
Bronk is a big mouthed tit who spreads misinformation like butter on hot crumpets. Totally in the pocket of we Americans and on record as repeatedly recommending Tempest be shit canned in favor of more F-35. Because, obviously, the US can always do it better. Prime misinformation example is the UK r...

I'm curious as to your accuracy with a rifle when its pissing down with rain and you can't see the target. Same goes for any armored vehicle guns.RunningStrong wrote: ↑11 Mar 2024, 19:17 Rifle is all weather, from coldest to hottest Def Stan, and every weather in-between.

For all the laser experts out there, please note that Dragonfire is installed next to a radar guided Phalanx in the CG movie. Also in the picture are very expensive, clear weather only, EO directors on both the Phalanx systems and the ship itself (for the 30 mm guns). Electro-optic sensors work mor...

One would hope that after the lengthy diving inspections and then onshore assessments that finally came down against QNLZ sailing that a plan of action would already be in place. Rather than a back of the fag packet 'lets stick her into Roysth and take a look at her '. What on earth makes you think...

I am led to believe there will be some of the naval architects from T31 switching to QE at the very least. To change a corroded shaft coupling? *Potentially corroded. Maybe they're looking at a completely new coupling. Stronger and easier to inspect. Be the smart thing to do. Different to the ones ...
