I've just realised that the Type 26 pennant numbers are a reuse of the old T22 Broadsword class numbers. The eighth T22 was HMS London (F95). HMNB Portsmouth is officially a Naval Base, not a port (civilian/merchant term) or a Royal Dockyard (because RN ships aren't built or get major refits in Portsmouth).
