Re: Border Force Cutters.

No doubt inflatable trips would be out of the question from Ascension, as it has become notable for Shark Attacks, but it may also be a bit of a security risk.

Re: Border Force Cutters.

Ouch ! Rattled are we ? Perhaps you should take more care with what you say in your posts.

It is nothing to do with “what I can come up with” ! What was in the rest of the post became irrelevant once your apparent disregard for human life was expressed.

A child is not an “It”, what is wrong with using “him” and/or “her” ? Or have we become so over gender sensitive that we refer to people as inanimate objects?

Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion

A useful building block of experience which will pay dividends when SERIOUSLY large Fixed and Rotary Wing components embark as part of a QEC Carrier Air Group in due course.

Re: F-35B Lightning (RAF & RN)

With regard to USN CVNs and F35Cs with folding wing tips, perhaps you had forgotten two considerations:- 1. The reduced number of Deck Edge Lifts (on the FORD Class). 2. The possible need to develop and retrofit larger Deck Edge Lifts on every CVN ! With regard to the second point above, even if suc...

If we don’t have the vessels, they will not be over “just for now”, but virtually on a “permanent basis” as if they were needed, we would not have the time to acquire any !

Re: Current & Future Amphibious Capability - General Discussion

Well would you have argued for Drones rather than Fast Jets ? I think not, so do not blame it on the RN. If sufficient resources are not provided, hard choices then have to be made. The real problem is INSUFFICIENT GRASP BY THE DECISION MAKERS OF WHAT IS REQUIRED, LEADING TO INSUFFICIENT FUNDING BEI...

Re: F-35B Lightning (RAF & RN)

Conventional Landing within the length of CDG’s Flight Deck is not possible…. There is no arrester hook on the F35B ! If you are talking about SRVL, then the Jet Pipe is angled somewhat downward (as it also is for Take-off with or without a Ski-jump). So whether or not heat protection for the deck i...

Slightly wrong! It is the Army that is a projectile (missile) to be fired by the Navy. The Navy of course includes the Royal Marines.

Re: Current & Future Amphibious Capability - General Discussion

Not bad! However I do not think that it is acceptable to dismiss the need for a replenishment vessel for LSG (North), simply because friendly ports are available (in times of peace). There are many friendly ports available to LSG (South) as well. The point is, that they may not be available when you...
