Re: USA Armed Forces

Potential of much improvement ahead, for select groups at least.

6.5 LMG and .338 NM Medium MG will stretch lethality over 5.56 and 7.62x51.

Here we go again. If Afghanistan didn't force a change to a more efficient 6.5, I have doubts this will.

Re: USA Armed Forces

F-35 kill ratio. Impressive. I have been critical of the program due to cost. My military service has been in COIN and peacekeeping environments where A/C like the A-10 thrive. This certainly created bias. Given high intensity against 4th Gen, A-10s will need help. I'm hopeful a mix of old and new c...

60mm cannon

Will there be a renewed interest in moving beyond 40mm but less than 76mm? It seems in recent years there has been an increase across the board in caliber and projectile choices. 35 mm is the new 30mm. Which make me wonder if the 57mm or 60mm class will see a renewed appreciation? Or do we have dimi...

Not much on detail, but generally speaking, potential rapid enhancements ahead. Interesting about the capacity to produce @30x of present. It looks very much like the Magpul Masada which was supposedly inspired by the XM8. It looks promising and am wondering if others will consider it.

Jealous! I've only seen one the late 90's across the tarmac in a restricted ANG area.

Quite impressive design from the slide-rule generation. Interesting about the G loading.
