Re: RN anti-ship missiles

My expectation is that FCASW is unlikely to be fitted to T45 (I suspect it would require MK41 being fitted). I would be surprised if it wasn’t a major part of T83 and any other vessel that has MK41 fitted - such as T31 in time - but NSM provides a likely cheaper and easier to fit alternative to wha...

I wonder if this will start to appear on other designs or will it only be an experiment on the Type 26's

It was also be very interesting to see how quickly the NSM appears on the Type 23's

Can we strap it to the Sting Ray Torpedo.

An option for the future.

Re: The war in Ukraine

So what do we think is next for Ukraine, force a crossing of the Dnipro, Attack south to Melitpol or following the Russians force that pulled out of Kherson to the East?

Re: The war in Ukraine

It is still a withdraw rather than full retreat where they leave behind a lot of their equipment, I wonder if the Ukrainians will be able to force a crossing of the Dnipro River, might be a bit harder with all the forces from Kherson along it. Hopefully someone can educate me on this.

Re: Ajax Armoured Vehicles (British Army)

Its "completed user validation trials" and "All aspects of these characteristics are fully understood and compliant with the Ajax design and safety requirements" so have they sorted the issues or moved the goal posts?

Re: The war in Ukraine

Where will they get these missiles from?

Do we have old stocks of these missiles, I am thinking of the mass launch of ASRAAMs recently as they approach the end of their life cycle, might be the same thing.

Re: Type 32 General Purpose Frigate [News Only]

Where was BAE going to build 13 Type 26?

Might be the way to build them after the Type 26's, I mean the Type 45's will not need replacing any time soon with how little miles will be on them.

Re: Type 32 General Purpose Frigate [News Only]

The point of the T31 was to give BAE a kick up the arse.

Wasn't the T31 reusing equipment to get it down to the £250m-£300m?

Re: Future Solid Support Ship

The French built 3 LHDs when they wanted to boost their economy, so why not the UK. I think you could argue that these one off investments could be justifiable reasons to borrow. Do we know how successful that was? I wonder if the recent issues with the POW will change our strategy, she couldn't go...
