Germany allows the sale of Typhoons to KSA. None.
Scholz decides in the end and he won't annoy the Greens because of such an irrelevant topic.

Re: Eurofighter Typhoon (RAF)
The german parliament approved the ECR pods for 15 Aircraft (most likely to be T4) - Saab/Helsing will be responsible for the delivery.

Re: Eurofighter Typhoon (RAF)
The doubts on the ECR version isnt if it is possibile, but at which cost. I really dont see the German Taxpayer accepting to pay more money for the ECR version when the F-35 is cheaper. Producing an ECR version would be absurdly expensive, I think. For such a proposal to be considered, the cost sho...

Re: Eurofighter Typhoon (RAF)
The claim that Eurofighter ECR will amount to a few pods being strapped to a couple existing airframe ist completely made up! Just like Tornado ECR was a dedicated EW platform with all the EW gimmicks included the EF ECR will be dedicated new build full spectrum EW platforms. Tornado ECR was modern...

Re: Eurofighter Typhoon (RAF)
The future german Typhoon ECR order will most likely only consist of the ECR pods by Saab/Helsing.
They will be integrated into 15 already existing airframes.
The German AF however still insists on getting 30 ECR Typhoons.
A larger T5 order (about maybe 60-80) Aircraft becomes more likely imo.

The procurement of 50 Dingo MRAPs (Replacement for UA donations), 3 P-8A Poseidon MPAs (Total of 8) and the ECR Typhoons will go to the parliament committees next week (15.11 to be accurate).
The first sources should follow later this day.

Re: Future UK Combat Aircraft (Project Tempest)
I think on that we can agree, if the conflict with the Dassault will make the FCAS crash, because Airbus want to be treated equally than Dassault, there would be even less chances of them becoming simple customers of the GCAP. The thing is 1. National 5th gen development based on the Typhoon 2. Mor...

Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion
Already expected sth comparable to happen since 2020. Germany is about to build 6 "Frigates" displacing up to 15.000 Tonnes designed as carrier escorts. It's been planned to use them for CSG-protection.
Apart from that: I somehow doubt Italy's ability to spare their DDs.

Germany wants the exact same Version which is currently under production in Queensland. Why would we set up a new production line if there's already one available?
